Dr. Corrigan family

Dr. Tom Corrigan is the founder and principle physician at The Corrigan Podiatry Group. He and his wife Debbie, a nurse practitioner student at Ursuline College, and having worked side by side with their three children (twin boys and little girl, along with GG their 9 pound puppy) to establish and grow a thriving practice group in Headquartered in Westlake.  Their main office is located 2 miles from Dr. Corrigan’s childhood home, where he grew up with his parents Tom and Rose and his brother Tim.

He was had the honor of attending two Jesuit institutions including, St. Ignatius High School and John Carroll University.  This is where his dream of becoming a physician (a decision he made at the age of 7), became a reality.

Dr. Corrigan was abruptly introduced to the field of podiatry specifically after a fluke rugby injury to his left foot. He was so impressed with skills of the podiatrist, that he began touring prominent podiatric physicians’ offices and made the decision to apply to The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.

After medical school Dr. Corrigan was recruited to a prestigious surgical residency at University Hospitals. The training was focused on minimal incision and traumatic surgical techniques, diabetic wound care, orthotic/shoe gear research, and extensive hands-on sports medicine.  Dr. Corrigan is a board certified reconstructive foot surgeon serving as a fellow at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.  He is currently on staff at The Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital Systems.

Dr. Corrigan enjoys skiing and hiking with his family, including his Grand Canyon Rim to Rim adventure with his wife in 2019! He further derives a great deal of satisfaction from the time coaching basketball, football, lacrosse and baseball at St. Bernadette.  He was also blessed to participate in a Free Clinic program he initiated on Cleveland’s near west side 15 years ago.

Dr. Corrigan has been published nationally and was the clinical director of two federal research projects on biomechanical advancements in Diabetic shoe gear and most recently treatment of peripheral neuropathy utilizing robotic laser technology.  He became a passionate advocate of neuropathy treatment after surviving stage three throat cancer leaving him with significant nerve pain in his left shoulder, pain he was able to cure with the help of the dedicated staff of Siedman Cancer Center and Cutting Edge Laser Technologies, the organization directing the MLS Robotic Laser Research Project.  Dr. Corrigan continues this work in Westlake working to address neuropathy.
