Custom Molded Orthotics
Back
Corrigan Podiatry employs the Gait-Scan System
which is a revolutionary diagnostic tool for assessing your biomechanics by
quickly and painlessly obtaining a 3D image of your foot and ankle in
relationship to the scanner. This is
accomplished using a laser guided pressure sensing mat that will take more that
a 100,000 measurements of your feet as you stand and walk across the
scanner. After reviewing these images,
Dr. Corrigan consults with a specialist (PhD in Anatomy and Physiology) in Canada
to properly access what type of custom molded orthotic is necessary to correct
the problem at hand.

When your feet hurt, you hurt all over!
Foot problems are caused primarily by foot imbalances.
The 26 bones of your foot assume an abnormal, unstable position when you are
standing or walking. Some of these imbalances are obvious, such as "flat
feet" (hyperpronation) and "high arches"
(hypersupination"). Most however, are so subtle,
they go undetected until symptoms occur. Your feet are the foundation of your
body. Foot imbalances put extra stress on the entire skeletal structure. This
is one of the primary causes of ankle, knee, hip and back problems. For
immediate foot pain relief, please consult Dr. Corrigan to see if custom made
orthotics are the solution to your foot problems!
Eight great reasons
to explore if foot

The graphic above is a pressure mapping
graphic to the Left and a three dimensional schematic of your gait to the
right. Both of these demonstrates the pronation and supination of your
foot as well as any deformities or irregularities in your stride. All of this
information is combined to create an orthotic specifically designed for your
feet. We do not use stock orthotics and
we custom grind each orthotic to fit your feet only.
Below you will see the type of orthotics we
offer at Corrigan Podiatry. Please
notice the thickness and shape of these devices, as they will fit in most
loafers, pumps, dress shoes and of course tennis shoes
and boots. They are transferable to all
of your shoes and will retain its structure and function for at least 18-30
months based on the patient’s size and activity.
